The Basilica of Santa Maria de Palma (Mallorca) is also known as the Cathedral of Mallorca and is the main religious building in Mallorca. In Catalan, it is called La Seu. It consists of a temple in the Levantine Gothic style built on the shores of the bay of Palma. It dominates the sea over the Roman and Renaissance walls that protect the city; it is the only Gothic cathedral that fits this characteristic. It also includes the seat of the Diocese of Mallorca, whose titular is the Assumption of Mary.
